NEW BEDFORD— The term "owner-occupied" holds a lot of weight in real estate, among both investors and renters.
A property that sold recently on Sidney Street, off Dartmouth Street in New Bedford, shows why.
The classic triple-decker, dating back to 1912, "has been meticulously maintained by its caretakers over the years that simply stands above the rest," reads the listing fromBerkshire Hathaway Home Services and Robert Paul Properties on Zillow.com.
The home, at33 Sidney St., sold for $510,000 on Jan. 5, according to real estate and mortgage data firm The Warren Group.
The multi-family home "has been maintained with sheer pride and upgraded over the decades of ownership with honest care," reads the description. "A grande dame of a multi-unit property, it features spacious front porches, replacement windows, off-street parking, newer roof, hardwood floors, and a partially finished basem*nt with a half bath."
Other features include a four-bedroom cottage setup on the third and fourth floors, and a city yard in the back "that will provide the new owner a great space for outdoor enjoyment."
Two of the units were vacant at the time of the sale. As of Jan. 26, one of the units in thisthree-family home was being advertised for rental at $1,500 a month.
It was the top-selling residential property for the week of Jan. 3-7 in New Bedford.

The top-selling property in all of the SouthCoast for that week was in Mattapoisett, where a custom-built 3,200-square-foot home in the Village sold for $1,250,000.
